XFL Recap: Seattle Sea Dragons Beat Orlando Guardians 26-19, Keeps Winstreak Alive

The Seattle Sea Dragons (4-2) emerged victorious against the winless Orlando Guardians (0-6) in a thrilling encounter, with the final score of 26-19. Both teams showcased their grit and determination, but it was the Sea Dragons who managed to clinch the win.

The game began with the Sea Dragons taking an early lead in the first quarter, scoring a field goal to put them ahead by 3 points. The Guardians fought back in the second quarter, scoring 10 points, but the Sea Dragons still managed to add 6 more to their tally.

The third quarter saw the Sea Dragons pull further ahead with an additional 8 points, while the Guardians managed to score 6. In the final quarter, the Sea Dragons solidified their win with 9 more points, while the Guardians could only muster a field goal for 3 points.

Seattle’s quarterback, Ben DiNucci, completed 18 out of 35 passes for 177 yards, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt. He threw for 2 touchdowns but also suffered an interception. On the other side, Orlando’s Quinten Dormady completed 24 out of 44 passes for 243 yards with an average of 5.5 yards per attempt but failed to secure a touchdown pass.

In the rushing department, Sea Dragons’ Ben DiNucci led his team with 43 yards on 6 carries, followed by Darius Bradwell with 32 yards on 12 carries. The Guardians’ Devin Darrington put on an impressive performance, rushing for 82 yards on 7 carries and scoring 2 touchdowns, while Jah-Maine Martin contributed 37 yards on 10 carries.

For the receivers, Seattle’s Blake Jackson and Juwan Green both scored touchdowns, with Jackson securing 79 yards on 6 receptions and Green grabbing 50 yards on 5 receptions. Orlando’s Cody Latimer led his team in receiving yards with 59 on 5 catches, followed closely by Charleston Rambo, who had 54 yards on 6 catches.

On the defensive side, Seattle’s Antoine Brooks Jr. stood out with 10 tackles, while Orlando’s Tye Smith led his team with 5 tackles and 3 pass deflections. Orlando’s Najeem Hosein managed to intercept one of DiNucci’s passes, but the Guardians were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.

In special teams, Seattle’s kicker Dominik Eberle was flawless, converting all 4 of his field goal attempts, with his longest being a 54-yarder. Orlando’s kicker, Jose Borregales, also had a perfect day, making 2 field goals with a longest of 50 yards.

The Seattle Sea Dragons continue their strong season, while the Orlando Guardians will look to regroup and secure their first win. Fans from both sides witnessed a highly competitive and entertaining game, reflecting the growing excitement and quality of play in the XFL.
