Game 4 of Week 2 in the XFL saw the Houston Roughnecks defeat the Arlington Renegades 23 to 14. This game was the weekend’s top matchup and did not disappoint. The Roughnecks win their second game of the season and are two and 0 under Wade Phillips. However, the team is 7 – 0 since 2020.
Brandon Silvers threw for 173 yards on 28 attempts and finished with two touchdowns. QB Cole McDonald also saw action but on the ground, leading the team in rushing with 39 yards. Ben Putman lead the team in catches with four for 65 yards. Cedric Byrd and Nick Holley both caught touchdown passes.
For the Renegades, Drew Plitt threw for 120 yards on 30 attempts with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The team only rushed for 43 yards. TE Sal Cannella and RB De’Veon Smith lead the team with four receptions. TE Nate Becker and WR LuJuan Winningham caught touchdown passes from Plitt.
