Game 4 of Week 5 in the XFL season ends as the Arlington Renegades defeated the San Antonio Brahmas 12 – 10. The Renegades are now 3 – 2. Brahmas are 1 – 4. This contest was a critical game for the Brahmas to keep pace with the Renegades in the South Division.
The Renegade’s offense continues to struggle. Kyle Sloter finished with 148 yards on 26 attempts and 1 interception. Is it the play calling, the offensive line, or the QB’s? The wide receivers also dropped a couple of balls. But they still came out with the win.
The Renegades rushed for 119 yards for the game. De’Veon Smith lead the way with 44 yards on 19 carries for 1 touchdown. Kenneth Farrow also provided a spark but left the game with an injury.
Brandon Arconado had 3 catches for 40 yards and 4 targets. Sal Cannella had 4 catches for 32 yards on 8 targets.
Brahmas QB Reid Sinnett looked to give the team a spark in the first half until he left the game with a foot injury. He finished with 97 yards on 19 attempts with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Jack Coan finished with 15 attempts for 42 yards and 2 interceptions with a 2.8 passing average.
As a team, the Brahmas rushed for 54 yards. Jacques Patrick lead the way as the featured back. He had 6 carries for 26 yards. The rushing attack we saw at the beginning of the season is no more. Even with a new OC, the team still struggled on offense.
RB Kalen Ballage led the team with 5 catches for 42 yards on 7 targets. Fred Brown had 4 catches for 31 yards on 9 targets. T.J. Vasher had the teams lone touchdown.
