BattleHawks WR L’Damian Washington has taken a job with his alma-mater, Missouri, as the Director of Player Development.
Washington signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2014. After stints with several NFL teams on their practice squads, he spent 2 seasons in the CFL.
After which, Washington played for the Birmingham Iron in the AAF, and then the BattleHawks in the XFL.
In 2019, L’Damian also spent time as a head football coach at West Middle School in Columbia, Missouri.
Washington finished the 2020 XFL season with 21 catches for 252 yards and 1 TD.
Missouri HC Eli Drinkwitz has brought in the former Missouri captain to help players reach their dreams of playing football, and to develop a life after football.
We know that only 3% of collegiate athletes will go on to play at the professional level, being able to give these players a plan to a successful life after they’re finished with sports is key.
Washington has transitioned into coaching, and motivational speaking, while also continuing to chase the dream of playing professional football.
