Nate Meadors Joins Steelers Practice Squad with Two Weeks Remaining in NFL Season

Nate Meadors has continued to fight to extend his NFL career. After multiple workouts, Practice Squad contracts and his time with the Battlehawks of the XFL, the UCLA alum has earned another opportunity for the next couple weeks of the NFL. Meadors per Aaron Wilson was announced to signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on their Practice Squad along with former Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith.

Meadors signed his LOI with St. Louis on December 11th following spending time with the Browns during training camp in 2023. He now joins A.J. McCarron, Jaryd Jones-Smith, Alex Matheson, LaCale London, and Lukas Denis as Battlehawks currently on NFL roster or practice squads. Meadors totaled 37 tackles and 2 interceptions for St. Louis during the 2023 XFL season.

Anthony Becht’s squad has now seen 16 players earn NFL contracts during the 2023 XFL signing cycle. With the recent signings of Meadors and Matheson, the Battlehawks may reprioritize their drafting/signings for a Safety and Long Snapper as teams look to reshuffle shortly in lieu of the impending merger.
