The CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed St. Louis BattleHawks DT Casey Sayles.
He is the 12th St. Louis BattleHawks player to sign with a CFL team. He joins 11 other XFL players on the Blue Bombers roster including WR Mekale Mckay (Guardians), DE Ricky Walker (Vipers), and CB Deatrick Nichols (Roughnecks).
Drafted by the St. Louis BattleHawks with the second pick in the Phase #2 Defensive Front Seven portion of the 2020 XFL Draft. He finished the 2020 shortened XFL season with twelve tackles, three QB hits, two tackles for a loss, and one sack.
At 25-year-old, Sayles spent time in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also part of the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) and played his college ball at Ohio.
