Former Patriots CB Otis Smith Added XFL Los Angeles Staff

Head Coach/GM Winston Moss has added to his coaching staff for XFL Los Angeles. Offensive Line Coach Jerry Fontenot, Runnings Backs Coach David Atkins, Wide Receiver Coach Michael Wilson, Defensive Backs Coach Otis Smith and Defensive Line Coach Vincent Amey were officially added to the coaching staff today.

Jerry Fontenot was an assistant offensive line coach and tight ends coach for the Green Bay Packers from 2006 to 2015. He played center for the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and Cincinnati Bengals from 1989 to 2004.

David Atkins is a long time NFL runnings backs coach with stops with the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings, and Cleveland Browns.

Michael Wilson is a former wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers from 1981 to 1990. His last coaching job was with the Cleveland Browns from 2011 to 2012 as wide receivers coach.

Otis Smith was an assistant coach of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2018. He is best known for his playing days with the New England Patriots. He played a vital role in the Patriots winning Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002.

Vincent Amey, we reported on earlier, he is the former defensive line coach for the San Diego Fleet of the Alliance of American Football (AAF). He also played for the Las Vegas Outlaws in the XFL in 2001 as a Defensive Lineman.
