XFL President Russ Brandon Talks XFL ‘Ramping Up’

XFL fans have been patiently waiting for some sign from the XFL. The last we heard anything was from The Rock during an appearance on the Manning Cast in January. He mentioned the XFL would be making some announcements in the next two to three weeks.

This would put us in the February time frame, as he also mentioned on CNBC a couple of weeks before that. But so far, we have not heard a single thing. Some thought maybe the XFL would break some big news before the Super Bowl. The other date was February 18th, which is the tentative date for the XFL to kick off in 2023.

Two months ago, XFL Chairwoman Dany Garcia and The Rock made social media posts about how training camp was 12 months away. This was based on a timeline posted via Dany Garcia’s Instagram account.

So we assumed that they would do the same on February 18th, but nothing. Maybe they decided to let the USFL have its time since they were making all sorts of announcements ahead of their season kick-off and draft, or the team was just not ready.

However, today XFL President Russ Brandon, who recently joined the Twitter universe, posted this message.

College all-star and bowl games may be winding down, the @XFL2023 is only starting to ramp up. Proud of our team and what we are building to create more opportunities for players. Big thanks to @MarcRoss @DougWhaley9 @cjcXFL @DDykemanXFL  for all of your efforts.”

A delay in any media blitz by the XFL could be due to the behind-the-scenes staff being filled out and people who have been brought on, only really started in January, a month ago.

Right now, the USFL has control of the spring football audience., but there are still plenty of loyal XFL fans waiting to hear from the league. Brandon’s tweet is not the huge XFL TV deal announcement, how many XFL teams will return, or even a timeline of announcements.

The XFL scouting staff has been crisscrossing all over the country at events. We know that they are working behind the scenes to gear up for the summer’s combine on the scouting side.

The major questions is when will we get more news from the XFL 3.0 era?

We have seen fans getting the XFL newsletter over the last month. They are just a rehash of the hirings the league has done. They are maybe kicking the tires to what is to come.

Whatever and whenever it is, we will be covering it on XFL News Hub.

let’s get ready, lost out last year due to COVID-19 or was it the year before, either way I have been waiting for this since I found out the Rock owned it. I am ready and eager 😁.
