On Wednesday, XFL Las Vegas head coach Rod Woodson appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, and announced XFL team names and colors are set to be unveiled next week.
"We're gonna give our name & show our colors next week.. I think we got the best name & uniforms in the league" @RodWoodson26 chatting about being Head Coach of the XFL Las Vegas franchise #PMSLivepic.twitter.com/JVlY98Fx4o
Woodson was not able to speak on many of the details to be announced, but he did mention Vegas’s team’s name is “dangerous,” and believes his team will have the best-looking uniforms.
It should be noted that Woodson did not mention uniforms would be announced next week. If uniforms are not shown, we can likely expect uniforms closer to draft time, around mid-November.
Woodson’s comment about Vegas’s team name being “dangerous” have led some to speculate about the return of the Las Vegas Outlaws from the 2001 iteration of the league. However, with the number of branding changes the league has already made in its third iteration, it would be wise not to get hopes too high, as league ownership has made it clear they are going in their own direction.
UPDATE: Woodson talks about next week with the logos and team names coming out next week again on the Rich Eisen Show.
