Injury Report For Saturday’s Game
Orlando Guardians (0-4) @ Vegas Vipers (0-4) Preview & Prediction
Both teams have not been able to do anything on either side of the ball. Both teams also have a QB issue, they both can’t decide who they want as their QB1 which has caused some major stir up’s for these offenses. The Guardians and Vipers really need this win to try and get some momentum for the rest of the season otherwise all hope could be lost at this point in time for either team.
Offensive Preview
After Week 3 every Viper fan though Hundley would 100% be the starter for the rest of the season. Until they decided otherwise and took out Brett in the 1st quarter, Perez came in and didn’t do what the Vipers thought he was gonna do. The only players that shined from that game was Cinque Sweeting and Jeff Badet.
Cinque & Jeff on the season have been on fire despite the constant QB changes.
Jeff Badet though 4 weeks:
19 Receptions/ 418 Rec YDs (3rd Most In The League)/ 3 Rec TDs (Also Tied For 3rd Most In The League With 3 Different Players)
Cinque through 4 weeks:
10 Receptions/ 157 Rec YDs/ 3 Rec TDs (Tied For 3rd Most In The League With 3 Different Players As Well)
The Vipers haven’t decided who will start this Saturday but what we do know is expect the unexpected which means don’t get comfortable with who starts the game because it could change depending how the game is going.
The Guardians on the other hand seem to have their QB1 in Paxton Lynch but with Quinten Dormandy coming back they could have a QB1 controversy yet again. In Dormandy’s last game the Guardians lost to the Roughnecks in Week 1. He threw a interception right after he replaced Paxton Lynch in the 4th quarter but later found Andrew Jamiel open for a touchdown.
Although he tried his hardest to win the game with such little time they still lost 12-33 and ended the game with throwing another pick. Lynch has been serviceable as the QB1 but they just can’t find the recipe for success.
Defensive Preview
The defense for the Vipers like I said last week has gotten worse and worse as we progress through the weeks. Nobody understands what exactly has gone wrong but their is 1 thing that most likely is causing their down fall. The offense for this team can’t connect at times and hasn’t let the defense get a breather.
When your defense is constantly on the field, your defense can only be out there fighting for so long. Being out there that often can cause injuries to your top players and really frustrate them very often.
Orlando’s defense has been horrid this season. They have allowed opposing offenses to score an average of 29 points per game this season thus far. They just can’t seem to stop any offense (Except the Renegades offense who only scored 10 on them back in Week 3 but still won) and given the Vipers have some serious weapons they could be in danger of another high scoring game.
Jacoby Jones and Stansly Maponga both have 2.5 sacks for the Guardians and will look to possibly add on if they blitz constantly against the Vipers. The duo of these DE’s can spell complete disaster for Vegas’s offense due to the Vipers being terrible stopping the offensive pass rush.
Final Score Prediction:
Orlando Guardians: 22
Vegas Vipers: 34
The Guardians allowed the Brahmas to go off for 30 points. The reason I bring up that loss up is because of the fact that the Brahmas are only 1-3 with a bad offense. Yet Orlando made them look like a top tier team, Jack Coan also threw 3 TD’s with no interceptions. Luis Perez and Brett Hundley aren’t bad QB’s just like Coan but whoever starts will definitely have a higher chance of staying in the game against this defense due to how easily every other team has taken down Orlando’s defense.
This could be the first week where the Vipers utilize all their offensive weapons that haven’t been used yet. Martavis Bryant, Geronimo Allison, and Matthew Sexton are all guys who were expected to absolutely light it up, but have been held back by certain factors on offense.
