The St. Louis Battlehawks will kick off their season on Sunday against the Dallas Renegades at 5 P.M. (ET). The league recently released an updated injury report, so let’s take a quick look at the Battlehawks report.
Will Clarke, Defensive Lineman (Out, Hamstring)
Will Clarke will miss Sunday’s opener with a hamstring injury. This is not a big surprise, as he was held out of practice. Clarke was listed as a starter on the team’s depth chart before the injury. He played 53 games in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals. Dewayne Hendrix is listed as his backup and could start in his place. Hendrix just signed with the Battlehawks on January 9th after spending a portion of last season on the practice squad of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Cole Hunt, Tight End (Questionable, Hamstring)
Hunt’s status is worth monitoring up until kickoff. He is listed as questionable, but he was a full participant in practice. If he cannot play, the Battlehawks should still be in good shape with Marcus Lucas and Wes Saxton, who are expected to be the starters.
Those are the only two injuries that the Battlehawks are dealing with. Fortunately, they will have an almost fully healthy roster to start the season. Let’s see if they can open the season with a win on the road.
