While merger talks and big name signings dominate the spring football headlines, Dave Boller and Anthony Becht continue to build their roster for the upcoming league. On Tuesday, December 26th Dave Boller tapped into his connections at Arizona State as St. Louis added T.J. Pesefea a Defensive Tackle.
Pesefea appeared in 40 games (14 starts) for the Sun Devils in his career. The Defensive Tackle totaled 76 tackles and 2.5 sacks in his college career earning a contract with the Cincinnati Bengals as a UDFA. Pesefea would appear in Three preseason games totaling Four tackles before being placed on injured reserve at the end of training camp. Pesefea would later be waived on September 12th from injured reserve becoming a free agent.
Pesefea joins a Defensive Line group with Erik Hansen, Freedom Akinmoladun, Kevin Atkins, Elorm Lumor, Gelen Robinson, Jadrion Taylor, and Tani Tupou. A veteran room, Pesefea offers St. Louis a dominate run stuffer in the middle to supplement the Battlehawks already stout and experienced Defensive Line group.
