Battlehawks Long Snapper Alex Matheson Signs with LA Rams

Right before the Battlehawks are scheduled to trim down their rosters one player was released slightly prematurely. After his workout with the Rams last week, the team announced that Matheson would be signing to their practice squad.

Matheson was picked up by the Battlehawks in the XFL’s supplemental draft. The Cal Lutheran alum was selected after the Battlehawks took Billy Taylor out of Rutgers originally. Matheson was a rookie in 2022/2023 after spending part of mini-camp with the Baltimore Ravens.

Matheson becomes the 16th Battlehawk to sign an NFL contract and the 68th XFL player to earn an NFL opportunity. As of right now LaCale London, A.J. McCarron, Lukas Denis, and Jaryd Jones-Smith all currently remain on NFL rosters whether it be on the Practice Squad or Active Roster. With the XFL set to conduct a dispersal draft on December 27th, look for the Battlehawks to snatch up a Long Snapper very soon.
