XFL Commissioner Oliver Luck went on-air with 101 ESPN in St. Louis and had a lot to say for XFL fans. In addition to giving out a BattleHawks “KA KAWWW!” Luck also spent time towards the end of the interview talking about the XFL’s outlook on gambling and fantasy.
This is encouraging news for fans of the relaunched XFL, as many want to engage with the XFL in similar ways to how they do with the NFL. You can hear the full interview here, but here are some highlights.
Gambling
On gambling, Luck said,
“We are encouraging people to gamble on our games, of course using legal platforms.”
Luckily for any XFL fans looking to get in on the gambling action, a Google search reveals countless results, but Caesars already has over/under win totals for each XFL Team.
If you feel bold, head on out to Caesars and put some action down! There are some opportunities that just seem too good to pass up here.
XFL Fantasy
Luck also went on to promise,
“A couple of big announcements in terms of fantasy on the XFL [platform] using our stats and players, etc for fantasy.”
This has set many fans abuzz, wondering what will XFL Fantasy in the app looks like?
Those speculating that it will be season-long are discouraged that it will be releasing so late and might make it difficult to draft. However, XNH will have you covered if that’s the case!
Check out our Draft Guide and keep an eye on our Fantasy Page for updated rankings, draft cheat sheets, and waiver wire columns all season! If you’re looking to get your season-long fix in before the XFL’s announcement next week, head on over to altfantasysports.com, leagues are forming now, so draft your XFL team in the morning and enjoy the Super Bowl in the evening!
There is also a possibility that the XFL will enter into the more crowded daily fantasy arena. Draft Kings has announced they will have XFL games. There have been rumors of FanDuel getting involved as well with XFL Futures, so stepping into daily games would be a small step. If the XFL gets in on the Daily Fantasy game, they may have to challenge two firmly established players.
The third possibility is, like the AAF before them, they have a new take on Fantasy Sports. The AAF offered an innovative idea with their in-app predict the play game. However, the execution failed to deliver. The images on your TV or computer were often behind the flow of the game, ruining any attempt to play by removing the gratitude of watching your win on television.
No matter what, the XFL seems to be on-track for success in Year One. Stay tuned as we learn more about the upcoming season and XFL app.
