CFL’s Calgary Stampeders sign Tampa Bay Vipers RB Brandon Wilds to a one year deal. Wilds will join, Armanti Edwards, Sergio Castillo, Jalen Saunders, Ranthony Texada, and Dontez Byrd in the CFL.
He is the first XFL player to sign with the Calgary Stampeders. He was part of the XFL Summer Showcase but was not drafted. Wilds later assigned to the XFL’s Team 9. He was signed off Team 9 by the Vipers on March 9, 2020. He did not play in an XFL game.
Texada was drafted 10th round, 79th overall, in the Phase #4 portion of the 2020 XFL draft. He was drafted by the New York Guardians.
He played his college ball at South Carolina. At 26 years old he had stops with Jets, Browns, Jaguars, Cardinals and 49ers.
