A week after trading Tight End Charlie Taumoepeau to the Seattle Sea Dragons, the Battlehawks picked up another Tight End. The Battlehawks signed former collegiate Basketball player, from North Carolina State, and Barry University Jevoni Robinson. Robinson joins the Battlehawks, after stints in the NFL, AAF and The Spring league.
After Robinson played professional Basketball in Italy in 2017 spent time with the Texans in 2017 and 2018 spending parts of both seasons with the team. In 2018, Robinson would appear in one game during the 2018 preseason but did not record any stats. Robinson spent 2019 with the San Antonio Commanders however, was cut prior to the AAF season.
After trying out with the XFL during the 2019 Showcase, Robinson would join the 2021 Spring League’s Sea Lions, playing with Alt-Football players like DeAndre Johnson (New Jersey Generals), Andrew Jamiel (Orlando Guardians), KaVontae Turpin (New Jersey Generals), and Levonta Taylor (Michigan Panthers). Robinson would record 3 Receptions for 19 Yards, recording his first statistics in his Alt-Football career.
Robinson becomes the 5th Tight End on the Battlehawks roster and will try to use the final week of training camp to compete for a roster spot. With training camp rosters set to be cut down to 51, by February 9th, Robinson will have a week to showcase his 4.59 40 speed, and 40 Inch-vertical in an effort to continue his Pro Football career. Currently the Battlehawks roster is now at 71 players going into Monday.
