Tom Mason New Defensive Coordinator For XFL Houston

XFLBoard.com‘s Mike Mitchell is reporting that Tom Mason will be the new Defensive Coordinator for June Jones and the XFL Houston franchise. Mason was last a Linebackers Coach of the Memphis Express of the Alliance of American Football (AAF) until they went under after eight games.

Mason is also a former coach in the original XFL in 2001 where he was Linebackers Coach for the Las Vegas Outlaws. He was SMU Defensive Coordinator from 2008 to 2014 under then Head Coach June Jones. He took over as Head Coach when Jones resigned and went 1–9.

He has a lengthy coaching background in the College game with stops in Boise State, Fresno State, and Hawaii.
