First XFL Trade Between St Louis Battlehawks And Dallas Renegades

Today via their social media account the St Louis Battlehawks have acquired WR Keith Mumphery from the Dallas Renegades in exchange for LB Markus Jones. This marks the first XFL trade in the new 2.0. era.

Keith Mumphery was selected by the Houston Texans in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft and played his college ball at Michigan State. He was part of the Group #1 XFL draft pool and selected in Phase #5 of the XFL draft by Dallas.

Markus Jones was undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft but played in the preseason with the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers. He played his college ball at NCAA Division II Angelo State University. He was not part of the XFL draft pool however he was selected in Phase #5 of the XFL draft by St Louis.

Jones was the national Defensive Player of the Year in 2018 for NCAA Division II.  He led all divisions in college football in 2018 with 36.5 tackles for loss. Jones also broke ASU’s single-season sack record with 17.5.

Look for more cuts and trades in the next 48 hours as XFL team mini-camps come to a close. We have already seen the Los Angeles Wildcats made some cuts.
