It looks like the talked about November supplemental draft is going to take place. The main XFL draft took place on October 15th and 16th, with 5 phases and teams drafting over 700 players.
Invites to the supplemental draft started going out today and surfaced on Twitter.
XFL Commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck mentioned the XFL would potentially hold a supplemental draft in November to cover college players and players cut from NFL teams.
The supplemental draft could also be used to fill the void left by players choosing not to sign with the XFL after hearing about the $55,000 per season they would receive from the upstart league.
Players like Corey Vereen have publically stated the pay was not enough to leave a full-time job. We also interviewed Vereen’s agent Logan Brown on the topic.
He talked about how the XFL gave the impression of a tiered salary system, yet that changed four days before the XFL draft. The change in salary structure was a turn off for some players who chose after the XFL draft to not participate in the 2020 season.
