Youngest Players Drafted To The 2023 XFL

Dohnovan West (Center/21 Years Old):

Dohnovan West is a 21 year old Center from ASU and played there from 2019 up until 2021. The 21 year old in his freshman year (2019) was named Pac-12 All-Conference Honorable Mention, and Pro Football Focus Pac-12 Third Team Offensive Guard. After his senior season (2021) he declared for the NFL draft and was expected to be drafted but signed to the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. Although being an underrated pickup he was waived by the team during final preseason cuts. He was then drafted to the Vegas Vipers in the 3rd round with the 20th pick.

Kaleb Eleby (QB/ 22 Years Old):

At 22 years old Kaleb Eleby was basically taken just out of college just like Dohnovan. Kaleb played for WMU in 2018 and left for the draft in 2021 but left with 6,084 Passing YDs, 45 Passing TDs, 11 INTs and 75 Rushing YDs with 13 Rush TDs. The former WMU quarterback went into the draft process but wasn’t drafted and rather got invited to a rookie mini-camp as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks. They didn’t sign him after he went to the rookie mini-camp. Kaleb was assigned to the Houston Roughnecks and will compete with Brandon Silvers for the starting job.

Charleston Rambo (WR/ 23 Years Old):

6 ‘1, 185 LBs and tons of speed is why Rambo was drafted by the Orlando Guardians in the 1st round with the 4th pick. Although he isn’t the biggest receiver he did well in Oklahoma with 1,180 Rec YDs and 9 Rec TDs during his time there (2018-2020). Rambo then transferred to the Miami Hurricanes and looked great in his only season there (2021), catching 1,172 Rec YDs and 7 Rec TDs. He then declared for the draft after his season was done but wasn’t drafted, rather he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers. He was cut during final roster cuts in late August after catching 3 pass for 30 yards in the preseason.

Abram Smith (RB/ 24 Years Old):

The very 1st pick of this year’s draft went to the D.C. Defenders and they went with the former Baylor running back Abram Smith. In 2018 and 2019 Abram didn’t record any major stats but in 2020 he played linebacker and recorded 48 total tackles with 1 sack. In 2021 he switched to running back after rushing for 35 rushing yards for 1 rushing TD in 2020. Baylor saw potential in what he could do at running back so they gave him the starting job in 2021 and Abram ended up running for 1,601 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. He then went straight into the NFL and ended up signing with the Saints after the draft but was cut in August as part of final roster cuts.
