Last week XFL co-owner Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson teased that big XFL announcements were coming soon. This weekend XFL co-owner and Chairwoman Dany Garcia posted her own tease, and The Rock then followed the next day.
“From all angles, working on a bold new vision for Tomorrow’s League. A new era begins soon. @XFL2023 #DreamsBeginwithinTheX #XFL2023 #Chairwoman“
The Rock then posted the following last night.
“We’re building a professional football league of culture, passion, innovation, purpose & opportunity. Here’s a special shaker cup I had made with a little @XFL2023 tease Two halves become one. X Stay tuned. Now back to work I go #X #IntersectionOfDREAMS #XFL“
Momentum is building up to an announcement from the league soon. We could hear something before the USFL kicks off its season on April 16th.
It sounds like the league is playing around with the X in XFL. Also, Garcia had the word ‘Tomorrow’ with a capital letter. Could we get something today?
Vince McMahon announced the relaunch of the XFL in January 2018, but the league shut down in 2020 after only five games because of you know what. Johnson and his business partner Dany Garcia teamed with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital to purchase the XFL out of bankruptcy for $15 million in August of 2020.
