Two more XFL players from the Houston Roughnecks have been elevated from their practice squads to the active 53-man roster in the NFL. Our own Mike Mitchell reported the roster moves.
CB Saivion Smith of the Dallas Cowboys, and LB Edmond Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons were activated on Saturday. That makes six former XFL players to get the promotion.
The Chargers and Panthers have two each. TE Donald Parham, and OL Storm Norton for LA, and QB PJ Walker, and TE Colin Thompson for Carolina. Curiously enough, they play each other this weekend.
Injuries have led to a lot of action when it comes to these moves, and XFL players are taking advantage. Over 20 now are in the NFL in some capacity.
The former LA Wildcats OL Kahlil McKenzie, now playing DT (his collegiate position) with the Bengals, has also been activated for Sunday’s game vs the Eagles, but he will revert back to the practice squad on Monday.
These rosters will fluctuate all season, and we may see some of the guys with the XFL again next season, but for now, the league is showing that it has NFL talent all throughout.
