Seattle Seahawks Sign Los Angeles Wildcats G Kahlil McKenzie

The Seattle Seahawks have signed Los Angeles Wildcats G Kahlil McKenzie to a one year deal. He is the third Wildcat to sign an NFL contract. He joins Saeed Blacknall and Storm Norton. He is also the first XFL player to sign with the Seahawks.

McKenzie originally signed with the DC Defenders on January 20th, 2020. He was part of the first 3-team trade in XFL history.  The deal sent S Shamarko Thomas from the Guardians to the Defenders, G Khalil Mackenzie from the Defenders to the Wildcats and the Guardians got G Damien Mama from the Wildcats. His play didn’t last long because, on February 22, 2020, he was placed on injured reserve.

McKenzie played his college ball at the University of Tennessee. He is the son of former NFL linebacker and Miami Dolphins senior personnel executive Reggie McKenzie and nephew of former NFL guard Raleigh McKenzie.

At 23, McKenzie had stops with the Chiefs and Seahawks. This is his second stint with the Seahawks.
