On Monday, The Seattle Sea Dragons signed kicker Dominik Eberle and released kicker Brandon Ruiz.
K – Dominik Eblere
College: Utah State (2015 – 2019)
Pro Experience: Las Vegas Raiders (2020), Carolina Panthers (2021, 2022), Green Bay Packers (2022), Detroit Lions (2022)
After a redshirt season in 2015, Eberle played 4 seasons at Utah State, appearing in 42 games for the school. He made 64 of 81 field goal attempts (79%), with his longest being from 52 yards. Additionally, Eberele never missed an extra point in the college ranks.
Eberle signed with the Las Vegas Raiders after the 2020 NFL Draft but remained on the practice squad for the year. In 2021, he signed with the Carolina Panthers practice squad, where he’d be cut and re-signed several times.
Ahead of week 16 of the 2021 season, Eberle signed with the Houston Texans practice squad due to their starter, Kaʻimi Fairbairn, getting placed on the Covid-19 reserve list. Fairbairn did not clear covid protocols in time for the game, and Eberle got to see his first NFL regular season action. He’d make 2 of 3 field goals (66.7%), with the longest being from 51 yards out. Additionally, he’d make 5 of 5 extra point attempts. Eberle was released in early January 2022.
Over the 2022 season, Eberle held a second stink with the Carolina Panthers, before signing with the Green Bay Packers, and most recently the Detroit Lions. He appeared in 1 game for the Lions, making 1 of 1 field goal attempt (100%) from 49 yards out. Unfortunately, he’d missed 2 of his 4 extra-point attempts (50%), and was released on October 4th.
