NEW YORK – AUGUST 1, 2022 – The XFL today announced that Jeff Altstadter has joined the League as Vice President, Communications. Altstadter will lead day to day comgmunications operations, aligning the League’s public and media relations strategies with its priorities to drive awareness and build team and player visibility on a national and local level. He will report to Janet Duch, Chief Marketing and Content Officer.
“We are excited to welcome such an experienced communications professional to the team. Jeff will draw on his over two decades of sports business and media experience to help implement and lead our national and local media strategies,” said Russ Brandon, President of the XFL. “He will play a critical role in integrating the XFL within our eight markets, cultivating relationships with media and overseeing each of our teams’ communications functions.”
In this role, Altstadter will work with senior leaders across all business units and football operations to develop communications strategies and execute plans that will advance the League’s objectives with a focus on protecting, shaping and telling the XFL story in compelling, creative and unexpected ways.
He will oversee each of the eight teams’ media relations functions and support teams’ local footprint while scaling nationally. He will also lead efforts in identifying reputational issues and provide real-time support regarding enterprise-level events, including business transactions, material announcements and crisis situations at both the League and team levels.

Altstadter brings over 20 years of sports business and public relations experience to the role of Vice President, Communications for the XFL. Before joining the XFL, Altstadter was most recently the Director of Publicity for sports betting operator PointsBet USA, overseeing the company’s earned media coverage, public relations and corporate communications.
Previously, Altstadter worked for the United States Golf Association (USGA) in various public relations positions, working on long-term and event-driven communications strategies. He also served as Senior Director, Communications for the New Jersey Devils, handling media and player relations. He received a Bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.
