The XFL today announced it has hired eight experienced Directors of Team Operations (“DTO”) who will serve as a liaison between their respective teams and the League’s business and football operations personnel. Each DTO will report to Marc Ross, Executive Vice President of Football Operations. DTO and Head Coach pairings can be found below.
“I’m very pleased to welcome these exceptional men and women to the XFL as we continue to build our teams’ business and coaching staff with the highest quality leaders. These individuals are credentialed professionals and bring immense football and operational experience to our League,” said Russ Brandon, President of the XFL. “We continue to make great strides in bringing forward a top-tier football operation with head coaches, assistant coaches and operations personnel that reflect some of the best that football has to offer from a diverse group of talented individuals. We are excited to bring all of this to bear for the benefit of the players we are scouting, which is going to result in some dynamic football when we get started in 2023.”
Each DTO will be the main point of contact between all team staff, working directly with head coaches, trainers, strength and conditioning staff, team security and content teams. DTOs will be responsible for communicating league level information to all players and coaching staff of their respective teams, ensuring consistency of League policies. They will also manage and coordinate logistics for all football-related activity, including team travel.
The XFL will kick off on February 18, 2023 in partnership with its new, exclusive broadcast partner, The Walt Disney Company and ESPN.
The XFL’s ownership group, led by Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital Partners, is building a fan-first, fast-paced global professional football league with innovative rules and enhanced 360 game experience. The XFL will bring entertainment to world class football, with the goal of advancing the game of football and expanding player opportunities when it launches in February 2023.
