Potential Mascot For The BattleHawks – Archie B. Hawk

With the sale of the XFL now finalized, everyone will be waiting on pins and needles to see what the XFL 3.0 has in store for us. There will be many more details about how the league intends to proceed, who will be the new commissioner, and who will be back from XFL 2.0.

Flying under the radar in all of this excitement is a tweet that Kurt Hunzeker put out implying the BattleHawks had a mascot they were going to debut had the league stayed active.

In the replies to Hunzeker’s tweet, former Director of Communications and Media Relations with the BattleHawks hinted Archie may not have been alone.

Obviously this news is not as significant as everything else that has happened today, but it is fun to think of what could have been. There were several unofficial mascots around the league from the Beer Snake in DC, to the “Cheese Guy” with the Guardians. Given an entire season, each team probably would have developed some type of mascot that their fans could enjoy.

Hopefully, now that the league is officially in the hands of The Rock, Dany Garcia, and RedBird Capital, we will get to meet Archie and Archie’s friend.

Hey everyone! I am from the Bloomington, Il. area. I am married to my wife Natalie, and we just welcomed our first daughter (Evelyn) in June. We have 2 dogs (Josey & Taw). I graduated from Illinois College in 2011 with a degree in history. I also played on the baseball team there. I am a die hard St. Louis sports fan and had season tickets for the BattleHawks in the front row behind the team.
