Back in April LA Wildcats WR Saeed Blacknall signed a contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was one of nine XFL players to sign with the club at the time.
Then on August 21st, he was cut from Pittsburgh. Today he re-signed with the Steelers who waived LB James Lockhart to make room.
NFL teams are making adjustments as we get closer to NFL Cut Down Day. 80 players rather than the typical maximum of 90 are currently on NFL squads. Teams need to trim their rosters down to 53 players before the Sept. 5th deadline. So this could be short-lived for Blacknall.
In 3 games in the XFL he had four receptions, 120 yards receiving and two touchdowns. He was inactive for two games.
