Houston Roughnecks CB Deatrick Nichols Cut By Miami Dolphins

For the second time this XFL off-season Houston Roughnecks CB Deatrick Nichols has been cut. This time is by the Miami Dolphins. Earlier in the Summer Nichols was cut by the New Orleans Saints. This is the life of most NFL fringe players.

He was the only XFL player on the Dolphins roster. The Roughnecks had a total of 10 players sign with NFL and CFL teams. Only P.J. Walker, Cam Phillips, Edmond Robinson, Saivion Smith, and Avery Gennesy remain on NFL squads.

Nichols led the XFL in interceptions with three and was part of the undefeated Houston Roughnecks defense. In 5 XFL games, he had 24 tackles and 1 sack.
