B.C. Lions Of The CFL Sign Houston Roughnecks K Sergio Castillo

According to Justin Dunk of 3downnation, the B.C. Lions have signed Houston Roughnecks K Sergio Castillo. He is a veteran of the CFL playing in 38 career games up north.

Castillo is the second kicker to sign a football deal, the first being Dallas Renegades Austin McGinnis. He is also the second XFL player to sign a CFL contract, the other is WR Armanti Edwards.

Castillo was 5 of 9 field goals in 5 games with the XFL. His longest was 44 yards. He played his college ball at West Texas A&M.

Castillo was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks in the Supplemental Draft portion of 2020 XFL Draft.

At 29, Castillo had stops with the Falcons of the NFL, then Blue Bombers, Redblacks, and Tiger-Cats of the CFL.
