Dave Boller and Anthony Becht brought in a reinforcement for the 2024 season. After seeing the departure of Silas Kelly, Mike Rose, and Carson Wells either get traded or not yet sign their LOI’s, the Battlehawks brought in Emeke Egbule a draft pick from their 2022 class.
Egbule was the 11th Overall pick by St. Louis during the November 2022 XFL Draft. Another player with a bit of a resume Egbule was a part of the Chargers for three seasons before getting cut in 2022. After getting drafted in 2019 during the 6th round, Egbule appeared in 32 games from 2019-2021 and recorded 13 tackles during his career. During late 2022 Egbule signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on their practice squad being offered a futures contract at the conclusion of the season. Egbule would find another professional opportunity with the CFL’s Edmonton Elks only to be released after a month from their practice squad. He would appear in Two games for the Elks registering One tackle.
Currently the Battlehawks LB room lists Johnny Buchannan (R), Marcus Cushnie (R), Travis Feeney, Willie Harvey, Lakiem Williams, and Callahan O’Reilly (R). With the addition of Egbule the Battlehawks now enforce their room with an experienced Linebacker with NFL and CFL experience.
