Is Antonio Brown’s Next Move Fan Controlled Football (FCF) As Player Or Owner?

It’s the final straw for Antonio Brown. Again. After the All-Pro Receiver’s most recent antics it looks like he will be released (he has not been at the time this article is being written). With Brown’s most recent outburst, it looks like his time in the NFL may finally be over. However, could there be hope? And does Brown’s road to redemption start in the Fan Controlled Football league?

Brown’s career arc is unique for sure. At this point it seems that he could be viewed as untouchable. But the FCFL have made it a point to sign two former NFL players that have had a less than stellar off the field career. Johnny Manziel and Josh Gordon are two players that recently took to the FCF to showcase their skills. While Manziel’s career seems to be complete or regulated to the FCFL, Gordon used the opportunity to eventually earn a contract with the Chiefs after being out of the NFL for over a year.

Gordon’s tenure in the FCF wasn’t mind blowing by any means. He played in two games catching seven passes for 100 yards three touchdowns (albeit a game winner) and Manziel wasn’t too spectacular either playing in three games throwing one touchdown while rushing for two. But, the league did afford the two players to showcase their skills, and put them in the spotlight in front of thousands of people.

The question is now does Brown want to play in the FCF? The league did reach out via twitter and AB proceeded to block and then unblock the account. Antonio Brown is obviously a complex man going through a lot of issues, and he should find out what works best for him and his family.

Not only could AB play in the FCF, which he most likely wont, but he could also be a team owner similar to other NFL players like Richard Sherman, Marshawn Lynch and Austin Ekeler. The league would gain a lot of interest if Antonio Brown was involved.

Maybe leaving the NFL to collect his thoughts and reassess his goals is what’s needed. The FCF allows AB to see if he truly loves football, if it’s his number one priority and if he wants to play or even own a team.

Josh Gordon did it and is now on a team contending for his second Super Bowl Ring. Regardless I hope AB is able to find happiness and peace no matter where he goes.
