Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that Winston Moss former Green Bay Packers associate head coach will be named the new head coach/GM of Los Angeles XFL team today.
Moss played ten years in the NFL as a linebacker from 1987 to 1997. He was a second round pick for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and later played for the Los Angeles Raiders and Seattle Seahawks. After his playing days, he went right into coaching in the NFL.
He had coaching stops with the Seattle Seahawks and New Orleans Saints before landing a long term role with Mike McCarthy, and the Green Bay Packers where he was was a linebackers coach for 13 seasons. He was fired in December after the team let go head coach Mike McCarthy.
Moss won a Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2011 and contributed to the University of Miami’s first football national championship in 1983. In 2015 he was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame.
