Daryl “Moose” Johnston a former fullback for the Dallas Cowboys from 1989 to 1998 is joining the XFL. Johnston was the first fullback ever selected to an NFL Pro Bowl and a three-time Super Bowl winner. Johnston is currently an announcer for the NFL on FOX.
Most notability, however, he was the General Manager of the San Antonio Commanders of the now bankrupt Alliance of American Football (AAF). He is the first big name exclusive to move over to the XFL after the AAF went out of business.
He will team up with head coach/GM of the XFL Dallas franchise Bob Stoops to help build their team in Dallas.
Johnston isn’t the only executive to move over to the XFL from the AAF this week. Chris Thompson, the former director of football operations for the AAF’s Atlanta Legends is now the new director of football operations for the XFL New York franchise. He will work alongside newly named head coach/GM of XFL N.Y. Kevin Gilbride.

So glad to see Moose involved in The XFL. If there’s any way he can convince Vince aka: Mr. McMahon to award a future franchise to his native Western NY,Buffalo/Niagara
area, and add another in Pitt or Cleveland, two great rivalries would be a natural.
I look for exciting and far better officiating than has gone down the sewer in the No Fun League. This will be fun to watch. Now I think it’s quite easy to figure out why FOX is airing Friday Night Smackdown! Vince, like President Trump is a solid negotiator. He always delivers. Even if it meant Vince got his hair trimmed to his scalp by The Donald! They both make & keep delivering on their promises. That’s What Makes America Great!
