Brian Michael Cooper To Be Named XFL Houston Team President

According to Fox 26 in Houston Texas, Houston based attorney Brian Michael Cooper will be named president of the XFL Houston franchise. No word yet on an official announcement.

He is the former president of the Houston Rockets affiliate, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, in the NBA’s G-League. He was also Senior Associate Athletic Director at Rice University and a Director of sports programming for the Dish Network.

Cooper began his career as a legal intern with the NFL. Then worked for several law firms in the New York and Houston areas. He worked on legal cases such as the NBA lockout, an anti-trust suit against Major League Soccer, and a suit against the NHL.

Cooper has a law degree from Columbia law school in New York. He began his collegiate career at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY where he received a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Government and Philosophy. He later received his Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, MA. Cooper is also a member of both the State Bar of Texas and the New York State Bar Association.

He will join new head coach/GM June Jones to help guide the XFL Houston franchise.
