We previously reported that the New England Patriots cut NFL star wide receiver Antonio Brown on Friday. In that article, we felt the chances of Brown being part of the upcoming XFL draft in mid-October were slim and none.
Pro Football Talk reached out to the XFL over the weekend to see if the new league could be a landed spot for the troubled wide receiver. The XFL told PFT,
“The league is not interested in Brown.”
Brown made it clear over the weekend that he may not be interested in the XFL either. A fake XFL Twitter account sent out a tweet claiming the XFL is not interested in Antonio Brown.
Later on, Brown blocked that Twitter account.
Over the weekend Brown also claimed he was finished with the NFL.
“Will not be playing in the @NFL anymore these owners can cancel deals do whatever they want at anytime we will see if the @NFLPA hold them accountable sad they can just void guarantees anytime going on 40m 2 months will see if they pay up,”
This leaves Brown’s only other professional football option would be the CFL. Given the CFL’s experience with Johnny Manziel, it is safe to say they will pass on him too.
It looks like Antonio Brown’s football career is now over.

I think it’s great news that AB will be left out. We are on the right track. I do not want to have to defend my position to support the XFL. None of the junk that embarrasses NFL fans
