XFL Draft Set For October 15th & 16th, Training Camp Details

We hear from multiple sources that a letter has been sent out by XFL Commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck. In the letter, it details the October XFL draft and training camp schedule.

The XFL draft is set to take place Tuesday, October 15th and Wednesday, October 16th from the leagues home office in Stanford Connecticut. Each team will draft 70 players during the two-day process — no word on if it will be televised or online.

After the draft, there will be a 16-day minicamp starting on Tuesday, December 3rd. The XFL will provide all travel, lodging, and meals for minicamp players.

Players will be paid every two weeks following the beginning of mini camps. That will remain as long as they are on an Active Roster or Injured Reserve through the end of the league year on May 31st, 2020.

A centralized training camp will begin on Saturday, January 4th, 2020. The location has yet to be announced by the league. We previously reported the practice location would be in Houston, Texas.

The league-wide training camp will end on January 21st, which will be the XFL’s cut down day.

Teams will have a 52 man roster with 46 players activated on game day. “Team 9” will consist of 40 players. We previously reported on the XFL’s “Team 9” concept.

The letter ends with the following note;

“If an XFL player receives a written offer to sign with an NFL team – after the conclusion of the XFL postseason – we will support that opportunity.”

    Families would like to be supportive and be a part of the process by attending the up coming XFL Draft. Will the set-up be like the NFL Draft? Thank you for the excitement and anticipation of something good coming our way!
