XFL Holding Two Week League-Wide Minicamp In Houston

NFL insider Howard Balzer is reporting that the XFL plans to hold their league-wide training camp in January of 2020 in Houston Texas. The practice would be one month before the rollout of the first ‘re-imaged’ season of the XFL since 2001.

The training camp in Houston would comprise of all eight teams and coaching staffs at one location. The AAF took a similar approach with a two-week league-wide minicamp before their season started this year.

XFL Commissioner and CEO Oliver Luck has stated he expects team practices to start around late fall after NFL cut down day. This two-week league-wide practice would be in addition to those practices in the fall of 2019.

This two-week practice would likely replace any preseason games at least for the first season and maybe beyond. It would be hard for the XFL to get fans out during the middle of the NFL’s playoff season.

Until January we still have two more coaches to be announced, the XFL rule book, schedule, team names, draft and TV partners. XFL news is starting to move fast so follow XFL News Hub as we gear up for kickoff in 2020.
