The latest stop on the XFL Summer Showcase tour was in Washington DC. It was just outside DC in Springfield, Virginia at a place called the St. James.
This massive facility is practice home to DC United(MLS). It was built over a year ago, and as Oliver Luck put it at the Chalk Talk we attended, the most impressive athletic sports facially he was ever seen, and he has seen a lot of them over his career. The 450,000 square foot complex includes turf fields, two ice rinks, an Olympic-size swimming pool, hardwood courts, rock climbing walls, and so much more.
XFL Hiring Spree
Once we arrived at the facility, we had a chance to talk to Bretan Debysingh League Communications Manager who told us the XFL has ramped up it’s hiring of key office staff over the last two weeks. With some 70 new hires that started Monday and over 90 new hires that started the week before. The XFL is in a serious employee growth phase as we move to kick off in 2020.
XFL Summer Showcase Breakdown
We set up our camera on the field and started taking pictures and video for future videos and XFL News Hub content. Here is a break down of what we saw.
The practice was run by the XFL DC Head Coach Pep Hamilton and his staff. Other XFL team were represented there by assistant coaches but not any of the Head Coaches.
