Sporting World Reacts to Week 1 of the XFL

The XFL kicked off their first week of football in this rendition of the league. It got positive reviews and ratings from fans and athletes alike as they witnessed their favorite XFL teams go head-to-head for the first time in three years. We saw incredible comebacks, last-second finishes, and many signs that this league is here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Not only athletes, but popular media outlets got in on giving their takes on the league.

The league’s positive reviews are certainly a huge sign for the future of this alternative football league. They’ll have a strong headstart on the USFL, who don’t begin competition for almost another two months.

We’ll see if Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and company can keep rolling with this strong start next week. But we can safely say the launch of the XFL seems to be a huge success.

The gameplay was great but I struggled with the jerseys tbh…they had no style or personality! The unvieling presentation looked fine but on the field of play, looked bland!!! Great football play so that’s a good start to the season but I wish they would’ve left the uniforms and helmets alone…Battlehawks had the best helment/jerseys but now they look terrible, only team that stood out was Houston but DC wasn’t too bad either…the rest, meh… #XFLBRINGBACK2020UNITFORMS lol

I think the XFL benefited from the USFL’s misfortune of having to play in Birmingham only due to COVID concerns. So, the crowds in the seats in Arlington, DC, and elsewhere were impressive. The quality was good for a first week and it looks like the XFL is off to a decent start. Here’s what I don’t like and will continue to dislike if it continues, the Rock making a WWE type of circus out of this. Believe me, if you cross the line and clown it up like it was back in the early 2000s, it’ll be viewed as cheap due to the business strategy. Don’t over expose the players and coaches with drones and mics. Improve logos to be more original and not the same font. This is what the USFL needs to improve on as well.

St Louis Loves the Battlehawks! Huge crowds expected at the Dome, home of the Greatest Show on Turf. This is the New Greatest Show! Ricky Proehl Jr. makes the game winning TD just like his dad did for the Rams in the NFC Championship game, UnReal! AJ McCarron is a star in town already too.
