According to sources close to the situation, Seattle Sea Dragons offensive coordinator June Jones is likely not returning to the team for the XFL’s 2024 season.
While the league has not made any official announcements yet, it should be noted Jones’ name and the offensive coordinator position have been removed from the Sea Dragons coaching staff page on the XFL’s website.
Additionally, It’s been confirmed Jones had looked to take a head coaching position since the end of the 2023 season and actively pursued the Vegas Vipers head coaching job after Rod Woodson stepped down. However, when he learned Dr. Anthony Blevins would be named the Vipers’ new head coach, June resigned from his position with the Sea Dragons on July 1st.
Jones enjoyed his time with Seattle but determined he was ready to retire and stay in Hawaii after missing out on the Vipers job.
A replacement for June Jones as Seattle’s new offensive coordinator has not been determined at this time, but a name that has been suggested as a potential candidate is Nick Rolovich, who was recommended by Jones.
