Chalk this one up for no press is bad press. Last night during the Saturday Night Live(SNL) Weekend Update news segment. Host Michael Che took a light shot at the XFL’s new Uniforms that were announced earlier this week.
“The XFL unveiled its uniforms for the upcoming season… At the same time, they will be shipping them directly to Haiti.”
This is in reference to NFL Super Bowl merchandise for the losing team that gets sent to other countries. Walk around in some third world countries and you might see a Super Bowl Champions Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt. Last year the Rams lost to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl.
The XFL was quick to capitalize on the interest via its Twitter account.
Kick-off is just two months away and interest and buzz around the XFL continue to grow. Brand awareness is key for the first season of the XFL. It looks like the front office team in Stamford has that covered well.

I seriously doubt this will make much of a difference. Especially when the games turn out to be trash like last time.
PS – Chevy Chase had a nice rant on Lorne Michaels awhile back that is spot-on.
