In a move announced today on the Tampa Bay Vipers’ Twitter account, the team has made the following moves:
- Vipers CLAIMED CB Trovon Reed on Waivers (from STL)
- Vipers TRADE CB Trovon Reed to St. Louis
- Vipers RECEIVE DT Kellen Soulek
- Vipers ACTIVATE OL Andrew Tiller from Injured Reserve
- Vipers WAIVE DT CeCe Jefferson
- Vipers WAIVE RB Tarean Folston (from Injured Reserve)
Reed was injured during training camp with the BattleHawks and was placed on IR with the announcement of 52-man rosters, he was activated on the Feb. 27th and claimed by Tampa Bay.
St. Louis immediately made a trade to get the 29-year-old corner back, sending Tampa Bay a defensive tackle in Soulek. Soulek is a six-foot-five-inch defensive lineman who played his college ball at South Dakota State. He has yet to record a stat in 2020.
Tiller is the biggest addition of the day for the Vipers. The offensive lineman was a surefire lock for starter at either guard or tackle and will certainly step in to a starting job once he’s back up to speed with the offense.
Jefferson was active, but had yet to get on the field for the Vipers. And with the activation of defensive end Obum Gwacham this week, Jefferson’s opportunity to get on the field grew even smaller. Folston was injured during training camp and was placed on injured reserve.
