Wednesday’s practice saw Antonio Callaway, the Vipers’ top wide receiver go down with an apparent lower leg injury, according to several reports.
A string of tweets from local reporters who were in attendance confirm the events:
The cart is never a good sign for an injury. It shows the medical staff decided any additional pressure could negatively impact the injury, so ultimate precautions were taken.
Immediately following practice, Vipers head coach Marc Trestman was asked about Callaway’s status and said the following:
Callaway was a late arrival to Vipers training camp on January 16th, but his impact was immediately felt. He was awarded a place on the 52-man roster despite being almost two-weeks late to camp.
As soon as an update is given regarding the specificity, severity, and timetable for return XFL News Hub will have it.
