As the Arlington Renegades currently deal with injuries on the offensive line, they brought back one of their linemen from training camp to fill the void.
The Renegades re-signed offensive lineman Darta Lee to the roster Tuesday night. Arlington also moved offensive lineman Teton Saltes to the reserve list.
Saltes was placed on the inactive list ahead of Arlington’s 23-14 loss to the Houston Roughnecks Sunday night. He did not show up in the injury report that was reported Friday so it is unknown whether it’s an injury that has him on the reserve list. For two weeks, Saltes was not listed on the depth chart for the team.
Lee was drafted by the Renegades in the fourth round of the offensive line phase of the XFL Draft back in November. He was playing left tackle during the open practice in the training camp where he took reps with the starters. During the final cutdown for training camp, Lee was one of the last three players to be released from the team prior to week one.
The offensive line has seen its share of ups and downs with Saltes on the reserve list as well as starting left guard Jake Stetz getting injured in the Houston game. Arlington is looking to add more depth to the line to ensure they have reinforcements for upcoming games.
Lee played well in camp as the left tackle, but with how competitive the offensive line battles were in camp, he ultimately lost the job to George Moore. Keep in mind that the team also has Willie Beavers who they signed two weeks ago before the season opener. After allowing five sacks last week, it’s worth noting to keep watch on what the Renegades do with the offensive line and if they make changes before their home game against the Orlando Guardians Sunday afternoon.
