XFL fans will see some familiar faces when The Spring League kicks off its season in May. According to our own Mike Mitchell, Head Coach Kevin Gilbride will be reuniting with his former New York Guardians QB Luis Perez. The tandem will be part of the Jousters.
The Spring League is a professional football development league that gives players a chance to perform in live games in front of coaches and scouts.
The TSL consists of eight teams and will see the North Division headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana with games at Lucas Oil Stadium. The South Division will operate out of Houston, Texas with games at Rice Stadium.
Kevin Gilbride and the Guardians finished the 5 game shortened season at 3 -2 and were improving when Luis Perez took the helm at QB.
The last time we saw Perez is when he took part in Western Michigan’s pro day and Louisville’s pro day, just a couple of weeks ago. He finished the XFL season with 418 yards passing, three touchdowns, one interception, and a 92.1 QB rating.
I am sure XFL fans will be excited to watch the tandem back on the field in the Spring. The Spring League begins play on May 6th. The Jousters open their season on FOX, Saturday May 8th against The Generals.
