Vince McMahon is one of the most successful businessmen and wrestling tycoons in the world. When WWE started out decades ago, they weren’t as popular and big as they are today. Vince McMahon made WWE what it is today, which is a billion dollar company.
Aside from wrestling, McMahon also wanted to venture in other businesses in the sports industry such as Professional Football. Which is why he created the XFL. When the XFL was first established back in 2001, the league folded just after a single season of play due to many factors.
On January 25th, 2018, Vince McMahon announced that the XFL would be relaunching on February 8th, 2020. Ever since the announcement, Vince McMahon has been busy, and he has been showing that he is serious about making the XFL work and succeeding this time around. He has brought top names in the football industry, who are studying the market inch by inch and by putting their research and hard work into place.
WWE has also been making changes in recent weeks despite being on the top of the wrestling world. This is due to the pressure that AEW has been putting on them lately. Aside from the wild card rule and the 24/7 Title being introduced, WWE has also hired new Executive Directors for Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE in Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff.
According to Sports Illustrated, Vince McMahon is so occupied and engaged in the XFL right now that he may not even have the time to talk to or exchange ideas with his new hires. Which is seen as a huge problem for the WWE.
Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff may not even have their ideas put into play as because Vince is to busy to listen to them. McMahon’s “fingerprints” may still be all over both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE. Something WWE fans want to see change.
We don’t know what will happen moving forward as it was reported on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Paul Heyman didn’t actually run the entire Monday Night RAW and only a handful of segments that took place were his ideas.
Vince McMahon has a crazy lifestyle when it comes to his work, but that is how he gets things done. It will be interesting to see how things work out from here on out in the WWE world.
