Inside of 24-hours before the Tampa Bay Vipers and New York Guardians kickoff their XFL seasons the official injury report has been updated, with some new names added.

Based on what we learned from the release of information during week one, initial injury reports for games are posted 72-hours in advance of kickoff. Saturday games get their first reports on Wednesday and Sunday games come on Thursday.

Then, at the 24-hour mark before games kickoff we receive updates and changes to reports, including the expected game status for players previously mentioned on the injury report.

Yesterday, five players were listed on the injury report, today that number jumps to nine. Check out the initial injury report from yesterday via the link in the tweet below.

New Additions

Rannell Hall, Cornerback

  • Thigh Injury
  • Limited participation in practice
  • Official Game Status: Questionable

As a cornerback, Hall is not in the top half of the Vipers’ depth chart. But he was named starting kick returner for kickoffs and punts. His questionable status could mean that duties are split between backup punt returner Reece Horn and backup kick returner Ryan Davis.

Jordan McCray, Center

  • Hip Injury
  • Limited participation in practice

McCray is listed as the team’s starting center, but the Vipers do carry a backup in John Yarbrough. He currently has no game status for Sunday.

Ricky Walker, Defensive Tackle

  • Thigh Injury
  • Limited participation in practice

Walker is listed as the team’s third defensive tackle, but with the way the speed of the game is supposed to be a factor, defensive fronts especially are going to need as many fresh and healthy options as they can get. He currently has no game status for Sunday.

The following players have been ruled PROBABLE for week one:

  • NY: Joe Horn, WR with an ankle injury

As previously mentioned, Vipers cornerback Rannell Hall is the only player ruled QUESTIONABLE for Sunday’s contest. If any major changes or additions come to the injury list stay tuned to the XFL News Hub Twitter for instant updates.
