Former XFL draft pick linebacker Jerimiah Spicer currently plays for the Orlando Predators of the National Arena League. He has informed his fans that last night while driving, a woman ran a red light and hit his vehicle. Despite wearing his seatbelt he was ejected out of the rear window. He would wake up in the middle of the street.
A man who was trying to do his best to get back to a higher form of football suffers a setback that was beyond his control. This is a heartbreaking situation for a man who was once selected in the open portion of the XFL draft for the 2020 league. Following the XFL shutdown, he would join The Spring League, and even attempt to follow those leads into the USFL in 2022. However he went undrafted and wound up landing with the NAL for the 2022 season.
He was one of many names looking back to the XFL in 2023 as a potential landing spot, and now it might end up being his next opportunity to step foot on the field. I feel for the man who has worked so hard, and never given up on his dream. No matter where he got an opportunity he did his best to make an impression, and it shows seeing the shower of support he received upon announcing what had happened. Let’s all wish him well and hope we see him get back 100% and return to the football field to chase all his dreams that he has been working so hard to achieve.
Jerimiah we are pulling for you! Get better soon!
