Former DC Defenders Offensive Lineman Chris Brown Dies At 24

The XFL family has lost one of its own. Former USC and DC Defenders offensive lineman Chris Brown has died at the age of 24. This is according to USC Trojans head coach Clay Helton.

Brown was taken in the 6th round by the DC Defenders in the Phase #2 portion of the 2020 XFL Draft. He played in all 5 games for the Defenders.

He started his final two seasons at USC in 2017-18 and was an All-Pac-12 honorable mention his junior year. He played briefly with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

Brown’s cause of death had not been announced at this time.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family at the difficult time.
